The Role We Want You For:
Lamar Johnson Collaborative (LJC) is looking to hire all levels of Designers to join our team in Phoenix as a contributor to a variety of design projects, research, and conduct analysis to support our diverse and innovative Industrial Design practice.
The ideal candidate will enhance and assist the practice’s leadership team, helping it grow and expand its Phoenix presence and portfolio through intentional project pursuits and client relationships. The Design Staff is collaborative with colleagues and will work across LJC disciplines and parent company Clayco’s construction and real estate arms to complete projects that are vertically integrated in the enterprise.
Role Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the delivery of projects from design concept through final completion of deliverables and submissions with a high level of quality
- Able to conduct analysis of various data sets, develop and document design and urban planning concept, and create project presentations
- Coordinates with a multi-disciplinary design team
- Assists with project management and serves as a key client liaison
- Provides technical assistance on topics related to planning, the regulatory environment, urban design and site design for a variety of project types and scales
- Attends meetings with public- and private-sector clients, including governmental entities
- Represents LJC in the community and at civic events
- Familiarity with public engagement tools and processes
- Applies planning knowledge and practice
- Develops intentional civic and public engagement tools and processes
- Practices LJC’s core values of integrity, humility and fearlessness
Qualifications:
A Designer at LJC possess:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field
- 3+ years of relevant, demonstrable experience
- Demonstrated competence with AutoCAD/Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, GIS and 3D modeling tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to graphically explain ideas
- Competent presentation skills
- Demonstrates a consistent understanding of the delivery and implementation of design thinking
