This role is responsible for sourcing components, assemblies, and tooling in support of New Product Development (NPD) for the company's Custom Products offering. Collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality, Operations, Purchasing, and the R&D teams for on-time delivery of new Custom Products.
Responsibilities include:
- New Product Qualification and Introduction: leverage your deep understanding of product technical specifications and requirements
- Project Management: Collaborate and technically contribute to the timely delivery of NPD projects
- Innovation: Actively contribute to the design and development of new product concepts by blending your sourcing expertise with technical knowledge
- Supplier Selection and Sourcing: Conduct technical assessments of supplier processes and capabilities to ensure they meet the product's design, quality and performance requirements.
- Other responsibilities include: Cost Reduction, Continuous Improvement, Request for Proposal / Quote, Risk Management, Compliance, Engineering Change Management, Production Part Approval Process, Production Transition, Tactical Purchasing, Vendor and Item Data Management
Requirements (certification and higher degrees are a plus):
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Familiarity with key manufacturing processes (injection molding, machining, electronics, etc.)
- Lean Manufacturing training and practical experience
- Project Management experience
- Problem Solving skills
- Communication skills
- MRP/ERP experience
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and bills of material (BOMs)
