Quantitative Associate - Renewable Energy Analytics


Our client, a leading renewable energy company, is seeking an accomplished Quantitative Associate to join their analytics team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive data decision-making across the revenue function, focusing on renewable power sales, portfolio management of solar generation assets, and optimisation of battery storage assets.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop models to support decision-making in renewable power sales, asset management, and battery storage optimization
  • Provide analytics to maximize asset P&L while mitigating risks
  • Support the company's growth by helping deliver innovative renewable energy solutions to customers nationwide
  • Contribute to the development of customer-led strategies and product innovation
  • Leverage analytics to build out an ecosystem for measuring, reporting, and sensitising portfolio positions and risks
  • Design and construct risk management tools for evaluating and managing the company's risk profile
  • Develop techniques for quantitative data management, advanced analytics, and machine learning
  • Monitor and analyze market information to identify opportunities for profitability and risk reduction
  • Develop strategies to optimize solar generation and battery storage assets
  • Incorporate weather forecasts, load forecasts, and operational constraints into decision-making processes
  • Analyze commercial terms of PPAs, identifying risks and proposing mitigation strategies


Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in competitive energy markets, preferably with renewable assets
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field
  • Experience in valuation and analysis of derivatives, and pricing of structured products
  • Familiarity with US power markets and commodity markets
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Python, C++, C#, R, VBA, Matlab, and SQL
