Job Summary:

Seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with 1-5 years of experience to join its Public Entity Law and Tort Litigation defense practice groups. The successful candidate will be responsible for various aspects of litigation, including written discovery, medical record/employment file reviews, depositions, trial preparation, expert witness management, and status reporting to clients. The position requires the ability to handle a significant caseload while maintaining a high-quality work product and working primarily in the firm’s San Diego office in a hybrid office/remote setting. Duties

  • Conduct written discovery, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission.
  • Perform thorough medical record reviews to gather pertinent information for cases.
  • Conduct and defend depositions as needed.
  • Assist in trial preparation, including drafting legal documents, preparing exhibits, and coordinating with witnesses.
  • Manage expert witnesses, including selection, preparation, and coordination of their case involvement.
  • Provide regular status updates to clients on case developments.


Qualifications

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for various aspects of litigation, including written discovery, medical record/employment file reviews, depositions, trial preparation, expert witness management, and status reporting to clients
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Admitted to the California State Bar
  • 1 to 5 years of commercial litigation experience, preferably in a law firm setting
  • Strong knowledge of civil litigation processes and procedures
  • Excellent research and writing skills
  • Familiarity with cloud-based litigation programs and billing protocols
  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively-Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities
