Interested in joining an established Civil Contractor with over 30 years in the industry?


This reputable civil contractor specializes in: site work, excavations, earthwork, utilities, heavy civil, and demolition across the state of New Jersey for both private and public clients. This is a promising job opportunity for a civil estimator with a minimum 2 years of estimating experience, ideally within heavy civil construction.


This position will report in to the Chief Estimator and works closely with the President/Owner. An excellent opportunity for a Civil Estimator looking to take that next step and grow under great leadership.


Your new role:

• Civil estimator to prepare detailed takeoffs, assist price preparation using HCSS.

• Quality / reliable estimate takeoff

• Disciplines will be within utility, excavation, earthwork, site work, substructure concrete, superstructure concrete, structural steel, foundation/ pile work, architectural work etc.

• Follows procedure guidelines successfully.

• Assisting, calling to review quotations from suppliers / subcontractors

• Software used (HCSS, AgTek) creating estimates, structure and quotes.

• Preparing bid submission packages


What you’ll need to succeed:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Construction Engineering, or equivalent working experience.

• Extensive knowledge of construction costs and engineering principles.

• Advanced computer skills with estimating software (HCSS experience is a plus).

• Effective presentation skills.

• Knowledge of on-screen take-off software (HCSS, Bluebeam, or Agtek earthwork takeoff software is a plus).

• Extensive experience with Heavy Civil Construction Projects (Highway and Road; Watermains, Sewer Pipes, Drainage, resurfacing, or any related Heavy Civil Infrastructure background).

• Well organized, flexible, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.


What you’ll get in return:

• $80,000-$100,000 (Salary based on experience).
