Responsibilities - Safely and accurately transcribes, prepares, and administers prescribed medications, following established protocols and physician orders.
- Observes patient dosing, monitors patient condition/reaction, provides appropriate notification of adverse events.
- Appropriately manages all medication inventory and associated documentation and record keeping.
- Provides patient education related to treatments, health and medication safety according to policy.
- Administers injections according to medical provider orders.
- Completes documentation using the designated EMR.
- Ensures required paperwork and daily reports are accurately printed, signed and filed.
- Complies with the BrightView Infection Control plan and educates patients and staff accordingly.
- Daily cleaning and calibration of dispensing equipment and sanitization of medication areas.
- Assists with initial intake of patients and performs nursing medical services, where appropriate per state regulations.
- Ensure all practices align with federal and state regulations.
- Travel between locations when necessary.
- Participate in treatment team, and medical meetings as designated.
- Complies with medication, dispensing room, and site safety and security protocols.
Qualifications - EXPERIENCE
- Required: minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in drug/alcohol or psychiatric setting.
- Preferred: 2+ years of nursing experience, preferably in drug/alcohol or psychiatric setting.
- EDUCATION:
- Required: Associates Degree in Nursing, (NDA), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with State Medication Administration Certification
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS - REQUIRED: State Licensed Practical Nursing License.
