The Senior Emergency Department Nurse is responsible for assessing, coordinating, planning, directing, implementing and managing the needs of assigned patients throughout the episode of care with a focus on progress toward discharge. This role involves delivering and coordinating patient care, ensuring competent and compassionate care is provided to customers. Hourly Range: $36.73 - $60.93
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, and perform treatments and procedures
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests
- Assess and evaluate patient needs for care
- Apply sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions
- Provide primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses
- Collaborate with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients
- Direct and guide ancillary personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of a professional academic nursing program
- Current Registered Nurse license
- Certification in BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC
- 1-3 years of previous clinical nursing experience in an Emergency Department
- Ability to improve job performance through continuing education
- Knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools
The Emergency Department (ED) is a Level I Trauma Center and serves as a regional referral center for a wide variety of patients requiring acute care.
