Job Description:
- The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients and families.
- Assesses patient needs, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates care delivery throughout the patient's episode.
- Develops specialized skills in caring for patients admitted for medical conditions.
- Provides care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations with medical conditions.
- Accountable for patient and family education to assist in understanding self-care beyond hospitalization, including lifestyle changes to support health and healing.
- Promotes comfort and provides emotional support in a Healing Environment.
- Evaluates quality and effectiveness of Nursing Practice and uses the results of quality improvement activities to initiate changes in individual nursing practice and care delivery.
- Engages in self-evaluation of practice and identifies areas for professional development.
- Demonstrates skill in application of interventions including medication administration.
- Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is reasonably anticipated.
Skills:
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, STROKE, NYS RN Licensure are required.
