Responsibilities of Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs)
- Administer medications as ordered by physicians
- Carry out physician-ordered treatments including:
- Nutrition administration via feeding tubes
- Tracheostomy care
- Suctioning (nasal, oral, and/or endotracheal)
- Ventilation support
- Assessment and treatment of seizures
Requirements for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs)
- Active LPN license in Florida
- Current BLS CPR certification (in-person training required)
- Experience with G-tubes, trach, vents, or willingness to learn
- Recent TB Skin or Blood Test documentation
- Completion of a 2-hour DOEA Approved Alzheimer's training (provided at no cost if needed)
- 1-hour DOEA Alzheimer's informational video (available for free online)
