Job Summary Xumo is seeking a highly motivated Sr. Technical Platform Product Manager to join our growing Product & Technology team. Reporting to the Senior Director of Product, the Sr. Platform Product Manager will be responsible for multiple facets of the Xumo Enterprise Syndication onboarding and support workflow for existing and new platform partners. This includes evaluating and understanding partner specs around content feed and EPG metadata ingestion. Xumo seeks a candidate with deep and broad knowledge of modern streaming technologies and is familiar with all streaming protocols necessary for today’s multifaceted streaming media landscape. This role will require an individual to be very organized, excellent in written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders, and regularly demonstrate subject matter expertise. Xumo, a joint venture between Comcast and Charter, was formed to develop and offer a next-generation streaming platform on a variety of branded 4K streaming devices and smart TVs. Powered by Comcast’s global technology platform, Xumo devices and services feature an entertainment experience designed to make it easy for consumers to find and enjoy their favorite streaming content through a world-class user interface and voice search, and for partners to meaningfully connect and engage with millions of consumers. Job Description Additional Job Info: Position is office based in Irvine, CA- 4 days/week & 1 day/week remote . This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as Computer Science, or related technology certification Minimum of five (5) years of planning, developing and delivering video and EPG metadata integrations Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience with OTT video streaming technologies (HLS/DASH/DRM) and cloud infrastructure Excellent communication skills with ability to drive and lead meetings around business systems and/or related topics as well as efficiently and effectively communicate with cross functional partners from highly technical to business oriented Analytical mind & strong problem-solving capabilities with experience launching/scaling products and features to solve complex challenges Strong collaborator with excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational, analytical, and troubleshooting skills Strong process and systems background with knowledge and experience in agile development/project methodologies Highly Preferred Qualifications & Experience Experience in Television/Broadcast/FAST, Media, Technology, or related field Familiarity with video ad insertion technologies in TV or streaming media solutions Familiarity with AWS Media Services, as well as related infrastructure Experience with content metadata solutions such as Gracenote TMS Experience with Content Management and/or Asset Management Systems Proficiency with relational databases, performing SQL queries, and other querying tools Proficiency with Jira or similar product management tools Core Responsibilities In this role, you will play a crucial role in managing and supporting the Xumo Enterprise distribution platform business unit As a key contributor to our organization, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver best-in-class solutions that improve our platform customers’ viewing experience Generate product strategy and execution that will drive the success of our streaming services from content feed and EPG metadata acquisition through to monetization and outbound delivery Responsibilities include but are not limited to: partnering with various engineering teams to create, maintain, and innovate the Enterprise onboarding roadmap collaborating and communicating with external Platform Partners on their integration progress close supervision of budget and related costs associated with video and other infrastructure for the integrations video, content, and ad operation support, to include replication and deployment of existing architecture and workflows coordinating business as usual support with various internal groups, ensuring minimal impact on platform partners Take ownership of the platform onboarding process, from introduction to launch, and ensure that all integration requirements meet quality standards and are delivered on time and within budget Exceptional organization skills will be necessary as this role will closely liaise with Project Management Office Use data and analytics to inform platform partner onboarding and support decisions and continuously improve the video playback experience for our platform partner viewers Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in technology and use your knowledge to identify opportunities for leveraging new technologies in video and EPG metadata delivery Communicate integration updates and progress to key stakeholders, including senior leadership, and solicit feedback to improve our integration process continually Ability to work non-traditional hours (as needed) for various critical global events Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
