Safety & Quality minded with willingness for excellence required Ensures all safety equipment, guards, and devices are in place at all times, and follows safe work procedures and safety rules Checks a set of cups on shift to make sure the problem is not being created by the plant Checks the coil for dents and holes during changeover before rotating mandrels into position to be threaded into cupper. Installs the coil being loaded on the off mandrel in an overlap position which should be facing in the opposite direction during the changeover Rotates the coil around, while the machine is in manual mode, by using the unwinder during the changeover. Inspects cups once per shift to visually detect defects such as excessive earlng, score marks, ID visibility, pinching, thining of cup at radius, lube and hairing. Shuts down machine when defective can is detected Identifies cups by recording date and shift on bottom of cuts, before sorting cups in sorter of station on process control board. Removes scraps from die of press before starting machine. Pulls 5 consecutive samples for an equipment set-up evaluation from bodymaker after tooling change has been verified. Adds oils to ironers as needed for proper operation. Adjust dome for depth, to meet customer specifications. Clears jams from bodymaker and trimmer Conducts daily or monthly lubrication on ironers for normal operation of equipment. Identifies trim quality problems. Checks three cans of trimmer every two hours for dimension Identifies the proper size rings to ensure customer specifications are met Sets timing for cup infeed, can blowoff and discharge pocket for bodymaker Operates the ironers and trimmers during daily production runs. Adjust trim heights to Crown’s specifications for finish. Checks cup elevator for damage or scrap cups after a die jam Performs other related duties as required High school diploma or equivalent experience 2-4 years manufacturing/production experience Good oral and written communications skills. Good record keeping skills. Good listening skills. Accurate measurement capability. Ability to understand and speak basic English.
