Job Title: Senior Process & Procedures Writer
Summary of Scope of Work
Seeking two (2) Senior Process & Procedures Writer, high end technical writer (10 or 15+ years) with Construction Project management procedure development experience.
Key Job Functions
Reporting to the Coordinator – Analysis & Procedures, Senior Process & Procedures Writer is responsible to:
- Translate project management, project controls, engineering and construction management processes and services, into detailed procedures or instructions with easy to follow steps.
- Facilitate interviews with subject matter experts (SME) and write user-friendly procedures based on SME’s knowledge and requirements.
- Develop and review draft procedures for completeness, comprehensibility and accuracy through continuous coordination with subject matter experts.
- Create, and maintain word or excel form templates that meet the needs of target audience, adheres to organizational and legal standards allowing easy input and incorporates process steps in a sequential order.
Qualification and Experience Requirements
Professional Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of practical experience as an effective procedure writer, in project management, project controls, engineering and/or construction management environments.
- Proficiency in procedure writing and building procedures based on process mapping including flowcharts.
- Specialized knowledge in Project and Construction Management industry processes, with the capability to translate those processes into written procedures.
- Effective communication skills both orally and in writing.
- High degree of attention to detail.
- Proficient in the understanding of complex interdepartmental processes.
- Ability to handle multiple procedural developments simultaneously within defined timelines and per specific directives.
- Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline (e.g. Construction Project Management, Process Management, Engineering)
Additional Requirements (optional):
- Certification or courses completed in Project Management disciplines are an asset (Project management fundamentals/Project management principles/Project Cost Management/Project resources: Planning and scheduling, Risk management, Contract management)
- Familiar with public sector transportation agencies.

- ECE manages a large portfolio of projects. The assignments includes interfacing with senior management. The assignments are not project specific.
