In this role, you will
- Develop and implement HR strategies that align HR policies, projects, and programs with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including job postings, interviews, short-list selection, and coordination of onboarding of new employees and develop plans for key role replacement.
- Foster a positive workplace environment by addressing employee concerns, resolving conflicts, and promoting open communication, in a manner that contributes to the organization's goals and objectives.
- Establish performance evaluation processes and systems, and ensure regular assessments are conducted in a manner that promotes employee growth.
- Assist managers and directors in identifying skill gaps, and organize training programs to enhance employee competencies and career development.
- Ensure all HR practices comply with local, provincial, and federal employment laws and regulations.
- Design and manage competitive compensation structures and benefits programs to attract and retain talent.
- Develop, update, and enforce best-practice-informed HR policies and procedures.
- Prepare and manage the HR department's budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Collaborate with senior management to contribute to business strategy from an HR perspective.
- Lead the HR team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.
- Implement health and safety policies to ensure a safe working environment.
- Develop strategies to improve employee morale, satisfaction, and retention, in line with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Support the organization through periods of change, ensuring smooth transitions for employees.
- Oversee relationships with external HR service providers, such as recruiters and benefits administrators.
- Implement and manage HR information systems to improve efficiency and data management.
Our ideal candidate
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is essential.
- Master's Degree (Preferred): An advanced degree such as a Master's in Human Resource Management or an MBA is often preferred and can enhance strategic understanding.
- CHRL, CHRE, or equivalent designation.
- 7-10 years of progressive experience in human resources roles.
- 5+ years of experience leading teams.
- 3+ years experience in a role with similar responsibilities.
Skills to have
- Demonstrable knowledge of HR best practices and strategy, and ability to translate this knowledge into standard practice.
- Ability to align HR strategies with overall business goals.
- Comprehensive understanding of local, provincial, and federal employment laws and regulations
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop HR teams.
- Proficiency in both written and verbal communication for effective interaction at all organizational levels.
- Strong ability to build and maintain relationships, resolve conflicts, and foster a positive work environment.
- Competence in addressing complex HR issues with sound judgment.
- Experience in guiding organizations through transitions, mergers, or restructurings.
- Familiarity with HR Information Systems (HRIS) and other relevant software tools.
