The Opportunity

We’re seeking a Planning Coordinator  to join our planning department. The planning coordinator’s main job would be to ensure that all input material required for the operation of the greenhouse is to be here when they are scheduled to be here. You will be tasked with planning all of our planning activities related to the production of all greenhouse and nursery items. This role requires attention to detail, a positive can-do attitude and a desire to continuously improve the business.


Responsibilities

1. Planning Coordination

Coordinate the planning activities related to the production of greenhouses and nursery items, following the P.L.O.C. model (Plan, Lead, Organize, and Control).


2. Greenhouse Planning Support

Ensure accurate information is entered into the PPS system for plants and assist with hard good information when necessary. Manage any changes in the system to reflect adjustments in production needs.


3. Problem-Solving & Communication

Act as a point of contact for external companies, addressing and resolving issues related to the production and logistics of greenhouse operations.


4. Collaboration with Greenhouse Staff

Work closely with greenhouse teams and planners, supporting their needs and ensuring they have the supplies necessary to maintain efficient operations.


5. Process Improvement Coordination

Assist in driving process improvements, working with the sales, growing, and planning teams to create a more structured and efficient workflow.


Qualifications:

  • Education:  High school diploma. Post-secondary qualifications are preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Experience : Previous experience in greenhouse operations, project management, or supply chain coordination is highly beneficial. Familiarity with agricultural practices and plant care is a plus.
  • Skills: Organizational skills for managing multiple tasks, and problems, excellent verbal and online communication to work with team members and suppliers, attention to detail to ensure accuracy in inventory management and scheduling and a persistent commitment to enhancing all part of the business.


Compensation:

The wage will be based on your expertise and experience, with a starting rate of $26.00 per hour.
