Position Description
As Valnet continues its dynamic growth, we are seeking a strategic and results-driven Head of Talent Acquisition to join our team.
This critical role will lead recruitment efforts to attract top-tier talent for portfolio management, investment, and other niche roles. Reporting directly to the Founder/CEO and Head of M&A, this individual will play a key role in sourcing and hiring world-class talent while overseeing a small team of internal recruiters and managing external recruitment partnerships.
This individual will primarily focus on high-impact recruitment efforts, leveraging innovative sourcing strategies to fulfill key roles that align with Valnet’s growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Partnership: Collaborate closely with the Founder/CEO and Head of M&A to understand hiring needs and develop talent acquisition strategies that align with Valnet’s business goals.
- Recruitment: Lead the full-cycle recruitment process for senior-level and specialized positions, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and negotiating offers.
- Proactive Sourcing: Build and execute direct sourcing strategies, including headhunting, networking, and leveraging industry connections to identify and attract top talent.
- Candidate Pipeline: Establish and maintain robust talent pipelines for high-demand and niche roles to support ongoing hiring needs.
- Team Oversight: Manage a small team of internal recruiters and coordinate with external recruitment partners as necessary to meet hiring targets.
- Stakeholder Management: Provide expert guidance to hiring managers throughout the recruitment process, ensuring alignment with Valnet’s objectives.
- Special Projects: Drive projects aimed at improving recruitment efficiency and scalability. Contribute to enhancing Valnet’s employer brand by fostering a positive candidate experience and promoting the organization’s value proposition. Track and analyze recruitment metrics to continuously refine and optimize talent acquisition strategies. Maintain and improve Valnet’s ATS and sourcing tools to streamline workflows and reporting.
Candidate Profile
Experience
- 5+ years of proven experience in full-cycle talent acquisition, with strong expertise in candidate sourcing and pipeline management.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, industrial relations or another relevant field.
- Hands-on experience recruiting for senior and high-impact roles, demonstrating a strong ability to identify, attract and hire exceptional candidates.
- Experience navigating competitive talent markets and securing top talent.
- Familiarity with the media, entertainment or technology sectors (an asset).
- Experience managing and mentoring recruiters, as well as coordinating with external recruitment partners (an asset).
