Description:


The Senior Manager, Business Development is a key member of the business development team, playing a significant role in three broad areas: deal sourcing, scientific and market research, deal evaluation and analysis, negotiation and related project and alliance management. This role supports the strategic direction and selection of the company’s product pipeline and necessitates comfort interacting with all levels of staff and management both within Knight and its business counterparts.


The ideal candidate is highly inquisitive and results oriented with a high desire and ability for continuous learning. In addition, the candidate should have great communication and organizational skills as well as an ability to adapt to changing priorities. A comfort and facility for personal interaction and networking with key partners and business prospects is a must, in a very fast-paced and multi-task environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete reviews of different therapeutic areas.
  • Lead new product assessments, including the review of scientific literature, clinical data, and the summary of current market dynamics with qualitative and quantitative market research, as well as product valuation and financial modeling.
  • Lead cross-functional due diligence, including company visits and all relevant functional components.Prepare presentations summarizing product assessments and valuations to senior management.
  • Support deal structuring, negotiation, legal drafting and contract reviews with external parties. Utilize and interact with external legal counsel on an “as needed basis”.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations, market dynamics, and emerging trends in the pharmaceutical market.


Essential Skills & Requirements:

  • University degree in a scientific and/or business discipline. Ideal candidate would have an advanced degree and a combination of both science and business education.
  • A minimum of 5 years of work experience in business development, equity research, consulting, or clinical development role.
  • Exceptional analytical and research skills with high-level attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, depth and objectivity.
  • Excellent time management skills as well as the ability to prioritize among multiple projects
  • Impeccable communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to translate complex ideas and concepts into cogent executive summaries and recommendations. Persuasive and diplomatic interpersonal communication style.
  • Self-starter and results-oriented: able to determine approach required to identify trends and draw appropriate conclusions.
  • Creative problem solving and flexibility to work with a dynamic team in a changing environment.
  • Strong people skills and teamwork and ability to lead people / team.


Assets:

  • Understanding of the biotech/pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience with market research and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of IQVIA and other market data.
  • Financial modeling experience.
  • Familiarity and experience with legal concepts and contract drafting, ability to understand concepts and communicate in a professional environment.
