District Agricultural Administrator
Amalgamated Sugar Company – Twin Falls, Idaho
Amalgamated Sugar Company is seeking a District Agricultural Administrator to maintain documents, data, and accounts regarding the contracting, growing, accounts receivable, harvesting, transportation, and payment of annual sugarbeet crops. This position reports to the District Agricultural Manager.
Amalgamated Sugar Company is a grower-owned sugarbeet cooperative supporting shareholders that farm 180,000 acres of sugarbeets in Southern Idaho, Eastern Oregon, and Southeastern Washington. The Agriculture Department receives 425,000 grower truckloads that deliver 7,000,000 tons of sugarbeets annually across 70 receiving stations. Specialized equipment at each station, referred to as sugarbeet pilers, are used to unload and remove dirt or debris from the sugarbeets before being stockpiled until processing at factory locations into granulated sugar and other products.
Additional Responsibilities:
Control, balance, reconcile, report data, and maintain documents from the agricultural, operating, legal and accounting departments relating to grower accounts, such as acres contracted, tons of sugarbeets harvested, piled, and processed, grower accounts receivable, grower beet payments and agreements.
Collaborate with and support District Agricultural Manager, Crop Consultants, other District Agricultural Clerks and the Senior Agricultural Analyst on various tasks and reports
Retrieve, review, and file documents physically and electronically
Prepare, analyze, and report data on sugarbeet harvest and processing and update systems, as necessary
Scheduling of staff and other meetings
Verify invoices and statements from vendors
- Assist the District Agricultural Manager with reviewing purchase card expenses
- Perform other position-related duties and projects as assigned
- Other duties as required
Qualifications:
Completion of high school
Minimum 1 year experience in accounting and business office settings
OR any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Must possess a valid Class D (Non-Commercial Vehicle) driver’s license and maintain throughout employment
Able to work effectively during periods of tight timelines and during stressful times
