Job Title: Sr. HVAC Chiller Technician (Journeyman Level)

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced HVAC Technician at the journeyman level to join our Client's team. Their ideal candidate will have mid to high-level expertise in HVAC systems, with a strong focus on chiller systems. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a full service mechanical contractor focusing on commercial, industrial and institutional customers where you will play a critical role in maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing various HVAC systems for their clients.
Our Client is a union shop, so you will either need to be in a union or willing to join.
Pay is $58-65+ p/h (depending on experience), with full benefits that equate to around $90 p/h.
What You'll Do:
Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on various HVAC systems, with a focus on large-scale chiller systems.
Install, maintain, and service HVAC equipment in both residential and commercial settings.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents to effectively complete work orders.
Diagnose and resolve operational issues in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
Provide recommendations for equipment replacements, upgrades, and efficiency improvements.
Ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulations.
Maintain records of repairs, maintenance, and installations through detailed reports.
Collaborate with team members and provide mentorship or guidance to junior technicians when needed.
Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency service calls.
About You:
Journeyman-level HVAC technician with 10+ years experience
10+ years hands-on chiller experience, including troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance.
Experience with Hydronic/steam boilers
Strong understanding of HVAC principles, electrical systems, and refrigeration cycles.
Holds Journeyman level HVAC
Ability to diagnose complex issues efficiently and come up with effective solutions.
Experience with VRF/VRV, desired
OSHA 10 or 30, desired
Experience with package units above 20 tons, desired
Capable of reading technical documents and ensuring accuracy in installations and repairs.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in various environmental conditions, and handle the physical demands of the job.
