Carlisle Weatherproofing Technologies (CWT) is a leading supplier of building envelope solutions that effectively drive energy efficiency and sustainability in commercial and residential applications. We are looking for a Class A CDL truck driver to join our team in St. Louis, MO.
The tanker driver is responsible for operating a tanker trailer to transport goods and assist with loading, unloading, and processing shipping documentation. Additional duties include inspecting vehicles for mechanical and safety issues and performing preventative maintenance on the vehicle and trailer. The driver is responsible for planning routes to meet delivery schedules. The typical schedule will have you operating Monday through Friday with 2 overnights, averaging 35-45 hours per week.
Duties and Responsibilities - Operate tractor/trailer in the transportation of freight in accordance with Company, Federal, State and Local laws with regard to run times and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure safe working conditions of the tractor and trailer prior to each trip and at the end of each trip.
- Check gauges and visual indicators for malfunctions, ensure locks on trailers are working properly, and conduct inspection of vehicle before and during trips to determine problems that may be occurring.
- Promptly report all problems to Fleet Services and/or supervision.
- May be required to work the dock to include loading and unloading freight.
- Document and log miles driven, work/rest periods and retain fuel/toll receipts.
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: - Must possess ability to safely and legally operate a tractor/trailer rig
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Knowledge of company policies, federal and local laws regarding transportation
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to communicate accurately and effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as safety rules, operations/procedure manuals and maintenance instructions with high comprehension and concentration level to include the ability to meet deadlines.
- Must be capable of working under tight constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities
- High school diploma or GED or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background
- Class A Commercial driver's license
- 21 years of age as required per FMCSA regulations and 2 years of driving experience
- Ability to pass a FMCSA-required medical exam or have current medical card
- HazMat, Tanker and Doubles endorsements required (LCV requirement may apply.)
- Must be able to pass a motor vehicle record background check.
- Must be able to be away from home at least two nights per week (two overnight trips per week).
