We are seekingresponsible adults to drive a van ornnmini-bus, CDL not required.These vehicles are used to transport students to and from schoolnnas well as extra excursions. Safety and wellbeing are our main priority. Drivers also completenninspections, light maintenance and cleaning of the vehicle.nnA Day in the Life:nnSafety first! Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections (e.g. Fluid levels, tire pressure,nnexterior/interior conditions, mirrors, brake systems, lights, wheel chair lift, etc.) to ensurennthe safe operating condition of the vehicle and compliancennOrganize pupil information in order to produce and update route maps of assignednnstudentsnnCommunicate directly with parents/guardians for the purpose of meeting students needsnnand providing information (e.g. Pick-up and drop-off times, locations, anynnphysical/medical requirements, parents concerns, etc.)nnClean assigned vehicle, both interior and exterior, for the purpose of ensuring safety,nnappearance, and sanitation of the vehiclennDirect the orderly loading and unloading of students to avoid injuriesnnMonitor students and other passengers during transit including advising of appropriatennbehavior for the purpose of reinforcing established rules and maintaining passengernnsafetynnProvides emergency first aid and/or CPR as necessarynnComplete and submit reports of incidents, complaints, accidents, potential emergencynnsituations, and passenger misconduct to appropriate personnelnnConduct emergency evacuation drills to ensure efficiency of procedures and compliancennOperate a two-way radio to communicating with the district office(s)nnPrepare reports (e.g. driving time, mileage, safety inspections, pupil count, etc.)nnAttend meetings to maintain skills and meet certificate requirements as required by thenndistrict and statennMaintain confidentiality in compliance with district, state and federal lawsnnPerforms other duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of thenntransportation departmentnnSuccessful Candidates:nnPass a background check and drug testnnHave a current TB testnnMaintainnna valid Kansas drivers licensennMedic First Aid Training CertificatennAAA Defensive Driving CertificatennPhysical/Medical Examination CertificatennHave multi-year experience operating a motor vehiclennCan drive during darkness (early mornings and evenings required)nnCan work in extreme weathernnCan spend the majority of their time sitting There will be some lifting, carrying, stoopingnnand kneelingnnMaintain regular and acceptable attendance/punctualitynnWhats in it for you:nnPage 2 of 2nnPart-time or full-time hours with full-time benefitsnnBenefits including health coverage (subsidized), dental, vision, life insurance and othersnnYou only work when school is in session!
