We are seeking a talented Events and Experience Curator to join the Sales department of Extra Fancy. Extra Fancy is a full service catering company brought to you by our James Beard award winning and Michelin starred restaurants, Rose’s Luxury, Little Pearl, and Pineapple and Pearls.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in hospitality networking, and proven sales success in corporate and social catering and a passion for excellence in hospitality.

Our ideal candidate is someone who, most importantly, has a real passion for making other people happy. Significant catering sales experience is required for this position.


  • Working as the Events and Experience Curator, you will effectively coordinate and oversee all external catering events (aka, non-restaurant related events)
  • Engage with members of the entire team to become knowledgeable about all aspects of the group: Rose’s luxury, Pineapple and Pearls, and Little Pearl including menu options, selling points, limitations, and event logistics in order to confidently and accurately develop and promote sales
  • Handle all incoming inquiries (via email, phone and Tripleseat) and respond in a timely manner
  • Directly responsible for menu development as well as costing and marketing functions as they relate to the catering department
  • Conduct market research to identify selling possibilities and evaluate customer needs
  • Manage/plan preparation, transportation, and setup, and oversee operation and clean-up of all events
  • Work with internal and external vendors including rentals, beverages, and other contracted services
  • Responsible for Event Coordination and Sales Financials
  • Hires, trains and develops managers, and is actively involved in the development of service techniques, menu presentation, policies and procedures
  • Creates reports of operating statements and operational budgets, and reviews the collection of receivables for each event
  • Catering activities, books, plans & directs event functions
  • Assist Events and Experience Coordinator with processing event paperwork 
  • Network individually or with Director of Events and Experiences to cultivate new business opportunities
  • Cross-market opportunities for non-restaurant catering clients and in restaurant event opportunities
  • Review current catering client profiles, event menus, staffing and equipment resources, and post event feedback creating a framework of reference, and improvement for future event sales
  • Proactively prospect for future corporate and social clients while continually satisfying existing ones
  • Cultivate and implement group sales strategies, plan and direct all logistics regarding vendor relations and contracts, event orders and staffing
  • Engage with venue managers and channel marketing partners to establish excellent working relationships and brand growth
  • Facilitate food tastings as needed to secure events with competitive bidding
  • Oversee the design, content, and preparation of event collateral
  • Maintains and builds relationship with local vendors
  • Maintain detailed client files to include client correspondence, event notes, signed contracts, event invoices and post event recaps
  • Prepares and monitors budgets; financial targets and forecasts
  • Performs related duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 3-5 years in progressive catering sales and event management positions with a proven track record of growth and experience with corporate and social clients
  • Strong network of current corporate and social clients
  • Passion for creating memorable events, exceeding customer expectations, and promoting company culture to associates and clients alike
  • Superb attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, maintain a positive demeanor, and enjoy interfacing with a multitude of clients
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of global food, wine and spirits
  • Experience with Tripleseat is a plus! 
  • Proficient in current G Suite, Social Media, CRM, and catering databases

Compensation:

  • Annual salary commensurate with relevant experience
