Position: Prep Cook
Reports to: General Manager/Restaurant Manager/Chef
Responsibilities:
Come to work in the proper uniform, equipped with essential tools such as a calibrated thermometer.
Showcase versatility by performing all the duties and responsibilities of a Dishwasher.
Meticulously wash, peel, chop, and dice various food items to ensure consistent quality.
Slice and portion meat, poultry, and fish with precision and attention to detail.
Conduct regular taste tests to maintain the highest standards of flavor, texture, and presentation.
Strictly adhere to handwashing policies and procedures to guarantee food safety.
Prioritize cleanliness and hygiene by using sanitary gloves while handling food products.
Follow company specifications for receiving, inspecting, and storing ingredients with utmost care.
Keep walk-in refrigerators clean, organized, and at optimal temperatures through regular checks.
Communicate inventory levels and concerns to the Chef, ensuring efficient kitchen operations.
Uphold quality standards for all menu items, ensuring that only the freshest ingredients are used.
Prepare ingredients according to recipes, paying attention to portion control and consistency.
Utilize sanitized utensils and small wares throughout food preparation processes.
Efficiently set up and break down the station in line with company procedures.
Label and store food products accurately, making sure all items are properly dated.
Safely and appropriately heat and cool products, maintaining their quality and freshness.
Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen environment at all times.
Job Standards:
Possess basic English reading and communication skills.
Exhibit the ability to work continuously for up to five (5) hours without a break.
Capable of lifting and moving products and equipment as required.
Comply with all specifications, procedures, and policies of Chez Messy.
Consistently treat guests, team members, and management in a courteous and professional manner.
Education and Experience:
Previous experience in a food service role is preferred, although a strong willingness to learn and work hard is valued.
Additional Job Functions:
Complete other duties as assigned by Restaurant Management, contributing to the overall efficiency of kitchen operations.
