Job Details

We are looking for Servers, Server Assistants and Host Team Members. All of our team members are responsible for making guests feel like they are part of our family by providing warm service, genuine care, and attention to personal details.  Our staff needs to be knowledgeable about the restaurant’s menus as well as the wine and beverage program, and we will provide a fun, engaging training program to help you succeed.  

Abel Brown Southern Kitchen and Oyster Bar is inspired by Todd Shafer’s love of the Heritage of Southern Cuisine blended with his background in classical French Cooking. A mainstay in the Augusta Dining scene, Abel Brown is both a destination and a neighborhood gem for casually elegant dining, wine dinners, and intimate, private events. 


Our Front of the House Management Team includes Master Sommelier Pablo Braida, so we offer plenty of opportunities for growth in wine and beverage education. We strive for team growth and pride ourselves in giving our team the consideration that we expect them to give our guests.


Essential Duties:

  • Greet all guests with enthusiasm and friendliness
  • Engage the guests to create positive dining experiences
  • Suggestively sell to the guest and build the per person check average
  • Deliver food and beverages to the guests at their table or bar
  • Execute on-going, pre- and post-shift side work
  • Open and close the dining room and beverage station as needed
  • Be knowledgeable of all menu items, preparation, and ingredients
  • Expedite, as needed
  • Seat guests, as needed

Competencies & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in fine dining environment preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of and interest in farm to table cuisine and wines
  • Operate Focus, the point-of-sale (POS) computer system accurately
  • Actively practice food safety procedures
  • Able to take direction and complete tasks
  • Organizational skills
  • Effective time management
  • Pleasant demeanor
  • Desire to be a part of a small, fun group of professionals
  • The desire to be challenged to learn new things
  • A sense of ownership and pride in your work
  • Positive and clear written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to engage guests successfully and build a relationship
  • Impeccable grooming as defined by management and dress code
