DescriptionnnThe Interior Designer/Space Planner will prepare designs, edits specifications, and conceptual estimates for interior work, repair, and/or renovation of government, airport, and commercial related facilities. This position creates, designs and implements interior design and space planning strategies and initiatives to ensure fluidity through the completion of the project.nnPrepares designs, quantity calculations, designs, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings for interiors of aviation and/or federal facilities.nnResponsible for compiling data, provide elementary design computations, assist with preparation of internal design plans and renderings.nnResponsible for furniture purchasing and reconfiguration.nnResearches interior design products and make recommendations.nnResearches, develops, and selects color, finish, and materials.nnResponsible for recommending new ideas, formulas and methods.nnLeads construction administration activities through site visits and review of schedules.nnResponsible for maintaining conformance with building standards, established architectural practices, and applicable building codes.nnComplies with all policies and standards.nnPerforms other duties as assigned.nnQualificationsnnBachelor's degree in Interior Design or similar field is required. (CIDA accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design is highly preferred.)nnA minimum of 4 years of experience Interior Design or similar field of study.nnA National Council for Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ Certification) is required.nnExcellent written and verbal communication skills.nnDemonstrated knowledge with Revit and other 3-D visualization software such as Enscape and/or Lumion.nnDemonstrated knowledge of Interior Design specifications, calculations, industry standards as well as visual, written and oral communication skills.nnExpert in the use of computers for making architectural drawings, calculations and 3-D visual simulations.nnDemonstrated knowledge of architectural principles and theory associated with project design and construction document production.nnThis job posting will remain open a minimum of 72 hours and on an ongoing basis until fillednnEEO/Minorities/Females/Disabled/VeteransnnJob ArchitecturennPrimary Location US-VA-NorfolknnOther Locations US-VA-Roanoke, US-VA-ArlingtonnnSchedule: Full-timennTravel: Yes, 5 % of the TimennReq ID: 240870nnJob Hire Type Experienced #LI-JJ #A&F
