Job Summary:
The Department of Medicine Special Treatment and Research (STAR) Program at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time TH Senior Staff Assistant / Data Manager. The successful candidate will:
  • Oversee management of STAR Health Center (SHC) data collection and revise processes as required to ensure compliance with funder and regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise data entry staff to ensure complete, accurate, and timely data entry.
  • Enter/oversee entry of data for other SHC related projects as assigned.
  • Evaluate programmatic data reports and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Continually develop data management strategies, develop Qualtiy Assurance reports to ensure accuracy of data provided.
  • Use automated tools to extract data from multiple sources.
  • Clearly convey findings, both written and orally, to non-technical stakeholders. This includes collaboration with other teams, understanding their needs, and providing reports and relevant data insights.
  • Develop and deploy surveys using REDCap and Qualitrics.
  • Upload data to multiple systems (internal and external) on a regular basis.
  • Develop and maintain reports using SQL, as needed.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 3-years of recent experience with PC's and data management or equivalent.
  • Proficiency using MS Excel & MS Access for data analysis, reporting and creating spreadsheets.
  • Working knowledge with SQL for database management automaton, and data retrieval.
  • Strong skill-set in data reporting, analysis and interpretation to support decision-making utilizing Tableau, SSRS, and Power Query.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (E.H.R) systems and their functionalities, Preferably HealthBridge (Allscripts)/EPIC, and Cerner.
