Performs the necessary job duties to provide optimum quality patient radiographs with ALARA radiation exposure. (Allow as reasonably achievable)

Job Duties:

n- Performs diagnostic radiographic services.
n- Operates imaging equipment.
n- Operates other equipment/devices as appropriate.
n- Positions patients needed to image requested anatomy.
n- Immobilizes patients as necessary to prevent radiographic distortion.
n- Calculates exposure factors for optimum radiographic quality with lowest absorption dose.
n- Practices radiation protection for patients, family members, other employees and self.
n- Evaluates radiographs for technical quality and demonstration of desired anatomy.
n- Assumes care for physical and psychological needs of patients while in Medical Imaging Department.
n- Practices acceptable injection control and maintains aseptic technique as necessary.
n- Assists with administration of contrast media as needed.
n- Assists physician with imaging procedures.
n- Initiates life support measures to patients when necessary.
n- Is able to lift up to 50 pounds correctly.
n- Maintains patient records
n- Assumes responsibility for assigned area.
n- Promotes a climate conductive to learning for co-workers.
n- Assists personnel with patient care as needed.
n- Rotates schedule within the department and/or other shifts as required.
n- Assists and/or transports patients using wheelchair or stretcher as conditions warrant.nbsp;
n- Request help as needed.

Education:
n
High school diploma or GED required. Current AMA Accredited Licensure. Valid National Registry Certification.

Training/Experience:

Prior experience highly desired.
