CT Technologists are a vital part of the team ensuring the safety of patients and providing computed tomography imaging and patient care services at defined levels. A CT Technologist must be able to accurately interpret a physician's scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate the CT scan equipment, and position the patient to capture the appropriate images.nnA caregiver in this position works variable shifts/schedules.nnA caregiver who excels in this role will:nnAcquire patients chart data/requisition and reviews both to determine correct room set-up and learn of any specific medical problems, contraindications to the study and verify that the study being ordered correlates to the diagnostic needs.nnEducate patients regarding procedure, equipment, and exam to ensure understanding and cooperation.nnMaintain all aspects of the CT area including the technical and clerical components to ensure proper quality assurance results and any required documentation.nnComplete and ensure that all electronic data is sent to its appropriate destination.nnInspect equipment to ensure proper orientation, contacts service if necessary.nnMinimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:nnGraduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.nnRegistered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT) and in good standing.nnCertification in Computed Tomography (CT) required within one year of hire: R.T.(R) (CT) (ARRT).nnBasic Life Support (BLS) certification.nnKnowledge of Federal and State regulatory.nnPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:nnTwo years of experience as an Imaging Technologist in an acute care imaging settingnnOur caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
