Job Description:nnThis is an on-the-job training role designed for Imaging team members who are pursuing a specialty within one of five modalities: CT, MR, US, NM, or Angio. The position is responsible for performing high quality procedures using independent decision making and problem solving skills to obtain the best possible images. The incumbent will become proficient in all aspects of patient care and the use of ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.nnScopennWorks at least 80% of time training in the respective specialty area. Must obtain registration within 1 year of moving into this job, if specialty area requires a registry.nnJob Essentialsnn*Will also consider a specialty tech in trainingnnEnsures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam. Assists in proper contrast administration.nnPositions patients effectively for scans, using sound knowledge of physiology and anatomy.nnPerforms exams using consistent department protocols and transmits all pertinent data through appropriate systems for radiologist review.nnProactively assesses images and makes adjustments, as needed, to deliver quality scans for proper patient diagnosis.nnPerforms routine maintenance, cleaning, and calibration of imaging equipment and makes adjustments for patient size, age, and condition. Also recognizes equipment failures and adjusts or reports concerns as needed.nnParticipates in department assignments such as maintaining department stock, quality improvement activities, and cleaning work areas.nnDemonstrates effective radiation and pathogenetic protection for patient, as well as self.nnFollows department protocols for medical necessity, obtaining consents for invasive procedures, coding and charging, and documenting any events that may occur.nnActively pursues learning new procedures or advancements in specialty area.nnThoroughly and accurately completes all required documentation, including time stamps and image storage.nnShift DetailsnnPRN position (on call, as needed)nnto fill day shifts and swings as needed.nnMinimum QualificationsnnTrainingnnCurrently attending and receiving formal Ultrasound, MRI, Nuclear Medicine training from an accredited training program.nn-or-nnSuccessful completion of formal training from an approved/accredited school with Radiologic Technology (RT) Certification.nnLicensennIf working in Utah, must have active State of Utah License.nn-or-nnRecent graduate from an accredited training program in the imaging specialty modality which is related to the job position (must pass boards within 1 year of graduating from program)nn-and-nnCurrent State of Utah License if working in Utah if required for that modalitynnCertificationnnBLS Certification for healthcare providers.nnPhysical Requirements:nnCarrying, Hearing/listening, Lifting, Manual dexterity, Pulling/pushing, Seeing, Speaking, Standing, Walking.nnLocation:nnIntermountain Health Utah Valley HospitalnnWork City:nnProvonnWork State:nnUtahnnScheduled Weekly Hours:nn0nnThe hourly range for this position is listed below.
