We have a client in Portage IN seeking an Application Engineer
- Support sales team as the product expert during customer emails, calls, or visits. Analyze customer applications and recommend solutions to their control system challenges based on our group"s product offering and core competencies.
- Meet with customers and conduct site surveys of industrial automation control systems to gain understanding of project opportunities. Gather information needed to work with project engineers/managers to develop solutions to address customer requirements.
- Use industry process knowledge and product application expertise to recommend solutions for customers.
- Prepare system configuration drawings, commercial and technical proposals by studying system schematics, specifications, plans and related customer documents, consulting with engineers, and other professional and technical personnel.
- Present technical/commercial proposals to customers. Follow-up with existing customers and foster new business relationships; supporting multiple locations as required.
- PLC products: Allen Bradley, GE, Siemens, Reliance Electric
Drive systems: ABB, Allen Bradley, GE, Siemens, Reliance Electric.
Job Requirements
Requirements:
- Engineering degree or equivalent experience in industrial automation.
- Experience working with PLC, AC & DC Drive systems, and HMI products.
- Metals processing knowledge is strongly preferred.
- Willingness and desire to participate in ongoing training to maintain technical competency in automation products, software and complimentary areas.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal.
