Provides diagnostic test to individuals in all age categories including geriatric, adult, and adolescents to aid in diagnosing disease processes. n

Works to reflect the highest achievable quality as defined by departmental and professional standards. n
Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission vision and values of St. Luke’s Health Memorial. n
Participates in hospital/departmental quality projects that enhance their skills and patient care outcomes. n
Participates in hospital/departmental educational programs as required. n
Accountable for certifications and records required to perform job. n
Represent St. Luke’s Health Memorial in physician, community relations and vendors in a professional/accountable manner. n
Demonstrates willingness to follow the chain of command, regularly channels suggestions, criticisms and questions to the appropriate person. n
Supports department-based goals and contributes to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff. n
Consistently enters correct exam information in computer system. n
Regularly practices aseptic techniques and utilizes Universal Precautions. n
Rotates weekend/call responsibilities in a professional and accountable fashion if applicable. n
Provides the requesting physician with preliminary findings based on diagnostic criteria established for each procedure. n
Demonstrates willingness to follow the chain of command, regularly channels suggestions, criticisms and questions to the appropriate person. n
Supports department-based goals and contributes to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff. n
Consistently enters correct exam information in computer system. n

Performs duties in accordance with that of St. Luke’s Health Memorial and departmental policies and procedures, and regulatory agency guidelines. n

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
n
Education Level
n
Minimum: High School/GED
n
Preferred: Graduate of an accredited echocardiography program
n
Licensure/Certification
n
Required:
n
BLS certification (through an approved AHA program) &
n
Registered through either American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography - ARDMS (RDCS) or
n
Cardiovascular Credentialing International – CCI (RCS)
n
