POSITION TITLE: ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALIST

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
n
n- Associate degree in accounting or training in bookkeeping/accounting required
n- Two years' experience in Accounts Payable.
n- Computer literate.
n- Experience in data handling, report generation, and statistics required.
n- Ability to type 60 wpm.
n- Good communication skills.
n- Must be able to work independently meeting deadlines and handle significant pressure.
n
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
n
n- Analyze accounts payable assuring a match between billing statements and evidence of actual receipt of items and/or services.
n- Review all claims assuring that every effort is made to take advantage of discounts and pay claims on time to avoid penalties.
n- Enter all invoices into a computerized A/P system and monitor A/P aging.
n- Prepare check run weekly for all open invoices and provide supporting documentation to designated parties.
n- Calculate travel reimbursements for all employees.
n- Other duties as assigned.
