Job responsibilities:nnInspect surfaces and determine appropriate primers, paints, finishes, and tools for applicationnMonitor material inventory and cost-effectively buy painting materials (e.g., paint, brushes, drop cloths)nCover furniture, fixtures, and exposed surfaces for protection before starting projectsnPrepare walls, cabinets, siding, fences, and other surfaces for painting projects (e.g., scraping, sandpapering, paint removal)nRepair cracks, dents, holes, and other minor surface damage with putty or plaster before paintingnMix paint colors to achieve the correct color and texturenPaint surfaces and apply varnish, sealant, and stain as needednFollow workplace health and safety rulesnLoad and unload tools and equipment from work vehiclesnMaintain a clean, tidy work area on job sitesnPrepare cost estimates and project budgetsnWork well with customers, contractors, and other tradesnCoordinate service with customers and handle complaints professionallynAccurately log billable hours using a time tracking appnManage job details, review daily tasks, and follow up with customers using our painting contractor appnnQualifications and skills:nnHigh school diploma or GEDn2+ years of experience as a residential or commercial painternValid drivers license, clean driving record, and reliable transportationnKnowledge of residential and commercial painting techniquesnComfortable using different painting tools on various surfaces (e.g., spray equipment)nFamiliar with color theory principlesnAble to perform basic mathematical calculations and measurementsnAble to sit, stand, kneel, lift, and climb laddersnStrong planning, organizational, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skillsnGreat attention to detail, positive attitude, and strong work ethicnCan work independently and as part of a team environmentnCan communicate well (multiple languages are a plus)nAble to follow written and verbal instructionsnFriendly with good interpersonal skills
