This opportunity allows employees to work with the federal government, offering competitive compensation and a strong work-life balance.nnHospital: David Grant Medical CenternnLocation: United States, Travis AFB, CAnnMinimum Qualifications:nnDegree : CertificatennEducation : Graduate from a cardiovascular technologist program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) through the Joint Review Committee in Cardiovascular Technology (JRC CVT) OR Prior graduate from the Air Force Cardiopulmonary program with an active Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) California State license or National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) Certification with the Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) credentialnnCertifications in addition to Basic Life Support : Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)nnExperience : The technician must have a minimum of two years professional Cardiac Catheterization experience. The technician must have worked full-time or part-time (greater than 20hrs/week) as a professional Cardiac Catheterization technician for at least 12 months in the last 24 months in the Monitor and Scrub rolennLicensure : Registered as a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) as determined by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)nnCore Duties:nnPerform duties within the scope of practice determined by didactic, laboratory, and clinical technological education and registrationnnReview and/or record pertinent patient history and supporting clinical datannPerform appropriate clinical procedures and obtain a record of anatomical, pathological, and/or physiological data for interpretation by a physiciannnExercise discretion and judgment in the performance of cardiovascular diagnostic and therapeutic servicesnnParticipate in interventional cardiovascular catheterization and/or cardiac electrophysiology procedures, including balloon angioplasty, stent insertion, radiofrequency ablation, and pacemaker and/or implantable defibrillator insertionnnPerform a full range of diagnostic ultrasound examinationsnnOperate equipment identified in the TO. Perform daily warm up and assigned quality control checks of the equipmentnnReceive patients and explain procedures, providing humane and appropriate care and communication to alleviate fear of examination. Correctly position the patient for the examination and make adjustments necessary for the required examinationnnInput key test data and patient information into computer of equipment to maintain record of test resultsnnIdentify abnormalities during testing and determine the need for additional scans of affected areannRecognize anatomic variants and determine which other area(s) of the body should be scannednnMaintain and clean equipment on a regular basis in accordance with MTF policy. Stock and maintain an adequate level of supplies required for diagnostic procedures. Recommend necessary repairs when diagnostic quality is degradednnAdditional Duties:nnProvide assistance in other cardiopulmonary service areas at the discretion of the Cardiology Element ChiefnnChain of Command: as a component of the CCL/CVOR team, the administrative institutional support for this position will be through the technical director of the CCLnnBenefits :nnVirtual InterviewsnnVariable of locations throughout the United States.nnContract: Year-long assignmentnnHours of Performance: Duty hours will vary by position and location; however, typical duty hours are scheduled between 0700 -1700, Monday through Friday.
