FUNCTION:nnSupports an assigned portfolio through architecting and designing comprehensive solutions to meet product needs. Works collaboratively with domain leadership to create solutions that align to architecture standards and principles, leveraging common solutions and services while meeting financial targets.nnPOSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:nnProvide consultation on the design, building, testing and deployment of technology solutions and designs for the domain.nnCollaborate with domain leadership and enterprise architects to understand business drivers, business capabilities (future and current state), and determine corresponding solution designs.nnEnable domain leadership to make business decisions by working with domain subject matter experts to evaluate technology solutions, articulating the value and tradeoffs of each option.nnParticipate in the creation of enterprise architecture standards and evaluate the quality and compliance of delivered solutions to ensure alignment with those standards.nnCollaborate with stakeholders on initiatives and participate in cross-team Agile ceremonies.nnProduce, enhance, and refine conceptual, logical, and physical solution architecture for strategic initiatives that align with Enterprise Architecture principles and vision.nnApply cybersecurity, technology, and risk principles and standards to ensure proposed solutions are compliant.nnResearch and identify the potential impact of existing, new, and emerging domain technologies and trends; publish findings internally for use by technology team members to leverage in future projects.nnAlign governance activities to the Bank’s architecture standards and escalate to the appropriate stakeholders as needed.nnObjectively evaluate and solve domain specific architecture problems in partnership with domain SMEs.nnCollectively solve problems in collaboration with enterprise and solutions architects for dependent products.nnMentor less experienced architects and act as the point person for cross-project technical issues and resolution.nnHarness existing technology resources through collaboration to benefit solutioning efforts.nnUnderstand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.nnIdentify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.nnPromote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.nnMaintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.nnComplete other related duties as assigned.nnMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:nnBachelor’s degree and 7 years of relevant work experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 11 year's higher education and/or relevant work experiencennExperience in software or service engineering and deliverynnExperience in the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies for strategic usennExperience in researching, evaluating and articulating multiple approaches to solving technical problemsnnExperience as a software practitioner, developing software and applicationsnnExperience with a minimum of two programming languagesnnExperience in designing, developing and integrating applications with relevant software architecture principlesnnIDEAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:nnGraduate degree in a technical disciplinennExperience working in a lead capacity related to banking technical designnnExperience working in an Agile environmentnnIndustry recognized certification in programming languages and/or cloud technologiesnnExperience working in the financial services industrynnM&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $130,795.52 - $217,992.53 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation. The range listed above corresponds to our national pay range for this role.
