This position uses ingenuity, iniative, and independent judgement to perform high quality scans.nnPosting Specifics:nnBenefits Eligible: NonnHours: PRN (As Needed)nnShift Details: VariablennAdditional Details: Shift differentials given for evenings, nights and weekendsnnEssential FunctionsnnMaintains ARRT competency in all clinical and technical functions of the jobnnUnderstands and operates CT equipment and related information systems appropriately to ensure production of quality images.nnEnsures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam.nnPerforms exams per department protocol.nnReviews and evaluates images for quality, clarity, and accuracy, ensuring that all necessary anatomical structures are captured.nnAdheres to radiation safety guidelines and maintains a safe working environment for patients and staff.nnCompletes studies within acceptable time limitations per department expectations without compromising patient care or the quality of the examination.nnProvides appropriate patient education, ensures patient comfort, and addresses patient and/or family concerns.nnCoordinates patient care and communicates pertinent information to other patient care providers following procedure.nnPractices appropriate infection control and sterile techniques.nnKeeps accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions or incidents.nnFollows appropriate protocol for medical necessity, coding and charging, obtaining necessary consents, maintaining applicable QC program and reporting any equipment failures or problems.nnAs ordered by the physician and under radiologist or physician supervision administers contrast media to patients per protocol and provides education to patients regarding safety concerns inherent to contrast administration.nnStays updated with the latest advancements in CT technology, techniques, and protocols by participating in continuing education and professional development activitiesnnAssists and instructs students and other radiology technologists in exam protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment.nnScopennAs a CT Technologist you need to know how to:nnPerform a variety of CT procedures to produce images of a patients body for diagnostic purposes.nnAdditionally, be responsible for obtaining patients history, explaining the procedure/process to the patients and/or family members, and addressing any patient questions/concerns.nnCollaborate with both internal and external healthcare team members to contribute to the plan of care of the patient.nnIn collaboration with the Director/Manager of Imaging, assist in identifying and driving quality and performance improvement initiatives.nnQualificationsnnBasic Life Support Certification (BLS) within 60 days, RequirednnARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT (R) Upon Hire, RequirednnCertified Computed Tomography Technologist - American Registry of Radiography Technologists ARRT (R)(CT), PreferrednnLicensure in state of practice as applicable, Upon Hire, RequirednnIV Competency within 90 Days, RequirednnFor caregivers hired in this role in the State of Colorado, a Fluoroscopy certification, PreferrednnSpecific facility-based certification may also be required for this role.
