Job Description
Overview
Responsible for uniform alterations and fittings for Team Members.
Responsibilities
  • Measures and fits Team Members for uniforms upon hire and when re-fitting is needed.
  • Hems pants and other items using different hemming techniques (e.g., blind hem, straight stitch, etc.).
  • Uses sewing, stitching, and hemming machines, steam presses, and irons to alter and finalize clothing.
  • Notifies Lead Seamstress in machine malfunctions.
  • Upholds a work environment that promotes teamwork, partnership, recognition, mutual respect, and collaboration, while role modeling the company values, behaviors, and culture of One.Team.Chumash.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
  • Previous experience as a seamstress or tailor is preferred.
  • Ability to use sewing, stitching, and hemming machinery, presses, and other related machinery.
  • Ability to follow directions, instructions, and manuals relating to alterations and machinery used.
  • Forklift Scissor and Boom Operator Certification within the first year.
  • Must participate and complete required ongoing departmental training.
  • Basic computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft applications, e-mail, and internet.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules in a 24/7 work environment, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
  • Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.
  • Native American hiring preference applies.
