Position Summary : The Payroll Specialist is accountable for collecting timekeeping information, incorporating a variety of deductions into a bi-weekly payroll, and issuing pay and pay-related information to employees.
n
Responsibilities:
n
• Prepare accurate timekeeping and payroll corrections
n
• Maintain payroll reporting files
n
• File and archive payroll data
n
• Process ACH returns
n
• Lead biweekly payroll processing
n
• Lead employee partner payroll requests
n
• Lead daily timekeeping maintenance
n
• Assist managers/timekeepers to troubleshoot timecard errors
n
• Prepare BLS reports
n
• Prepare payroll verifications
n
• Assist with ad hoc projects and reporting requests
n
• May perform other duties as assigned
n
QUALIFICATIONS
n
Experience :
n
• Minimum of 3-5 years of payroll processing experience
n
Education :
n
• High school graduate
n
• Some college preferred
n
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities :
n
• Ability to respond adequately to changing priorities
n
• Ability to assign importance level to open items and prioritize accordingly
n
• Highly organized
n
• Excellent customer service skills
n
• Presents a good understanding of math and computer skills
n
• Experience with office technology (i.e. computer, scanner)
n
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel)
n
• Ability to learn new computer software quickly (previous payroll software experience a plus)
