This is a full-time position working weekends (Friday-Sunday) from 7:30pm - 8:00am.
EXTRA INCENTIVE:
Up to $15,000 sign on bonus, subject to two-year Hospital Sign on Advance Agreement. (External candidates only.)
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES (not limited to):
  1. Technical factors: Automatic exposure control is used appropriately. Technical factors (kvp, ma, time and distance) are accurately utilized. Appropriate cassette is used (regular, grid, etc.), collimation and tomographic factors are employed and assistance is given to the attending physician during exams.
  2. Positioning techniques: Appropriate body parts are imaged and identified, views are acquired, and immobilization is employed, Radiologist protocols are followed. Practices good sterile techniques. Performs Computed Tomography Exams with and without power contrast injections.
  3. Archiving is done appropriately with the PACS.
  4. Gantry: Angle mechanism is used appropriately, Table height is appropriate, Positioning is appropriate for exam.
  5. Patient handling: Transports, transfers and positions patients in a manner that is safe for the patient. Confirms that patient and exam preparations are appropriate. Evaluates patient’s mental and physical condition in order to avoid hazardous situations and does not leave alone, if their safety is questioned.
  6. Accurate patient and image documentation in the HIS/RIS and PACS systems.
  7. Performs SBAR as required and uses AIDET.
  8. Monitors patient needs.
  9. Performs necessary paperwork and archiving.
  10. Administers contrast media when appropriate.
  11. Proficient in starting IV’s.
  12. May be assigned on-call standby shifts as needed by the department.
  13. Handles confidential information according to HIPAA regulations.
  14. Specialized Equipment Setup:
    1. Ability to adjust technical settings.
    2. Ability to adjust physical parameters.
    3. Positioning is appropriate for exam.
  15. Acts as mentor to students from affiliated Radiology Technology Programs.
  16. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
  17. Ensures no injuries to self or others by following safe work practices and policies. This includes, but is not limited to: security and safety, understanding of MSDS, equipment, infection control, fire, disaster, safe lifting and body
  18. Ensures self-compliance with organization policies and procedures, as well as labor agreements.
  19. Ensures the interface with team members and other support groups is conducted in a courteous and efficient manner conducive with the organization’s values.
  20. Conducts self in a professional manner and ensures personal appearance meets the standards necessary to perform the job function while representing the organization.
  21. Ensures that additional accountabilities, as may be required by management, be handled in a manner necessary to meet organizational standards.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (not limited to):
  1. Washington State Radiologic Technologist Certification.
  2. Registered – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, RT(R) (CT) required.
  3. Completes Samaritan appropriate CT modality orientation.
  4. Minimum of two (2) years experience in hospital setting preferred.
  5. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (HCP) level to be completed within three (3) months of hire.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
