Our rich diversity of people and ideas makes us a stronger, more innovative organization.nnJob SummarynnThe Substation Journeyman performs highly skilled, journeyman-level electrical work in the operation, construction, maintenance, and repair of high voltage electric substations, and other related electrical and mechanical equipment associated with high voltage electric substations.nnThis role supports the construction of new Substations as well as modifications, and upgrades of existing Substations for Electrical Utility Companies.nnResponsibilitiesnnCore ResponsibilitiesnnWorks safely while performing new construction, maintenance or repair, testing, adjusting and troubleshooting work of substation equipment/systems which includes, but is not limited to, work involving the following:nnConcrete Foundations, ground grids, and steel erectionnnBuswork (High and Low Voltage)nnAirbreak / Hookstick SwitchesnnControl CablennTerminations (High / Low Voltage)nnControl BuildingsnnConduit and duck banksnnCapacitor bank installations 23kv- 230 kvnnTransformers, regulators and circuit breakersnnCircuit Switchers, motor-operated and manual switchesnnDuring installation and or maintenance, trouble shoot and correct malfunctions of all substation equipment.nnSafe operation of all company and related construction equipment used for substation, transmission, and distribution line construction.nnFollow company and industry safety protocols within the construction of substations.nnAny other tasks as directed.nnResponsible for maintaining Company vehicles, test equipment and tools in good working conditionsnnFrequently works with energized high voltage systems requiring skill and care to protect the lives of themselves and others.nnUnderstands and complies with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.nnOther duties as assigned by Management.nnQualificationsnnMinimum QualificationsnnObtain and maintain a valid State Class C driver’s license.nnMust have previous substation experiencennMust be willing to travel around Florida.nnPreferred QualificationsnnOSHA 10.nn4+ years of substation experincennPhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentnnThis job operates in a field environment. This role routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, and twisting. Also, working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.nnThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position is physically active, with lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
