Overview:
The Accounting Specialist 1 will support financial operations by reviewing, analyzing, and verifying employee travel claims, processing fiscal transactions, and addressing inquiries. The role requires applying governmental accounting principles, handling unresolved financial documents, and providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities :

• Review and verify employee travel claims for accuracy and compliance.
• Process fiscal transactions using automated accounting systems, including HRIS.
• Research and resolve financial discrepancies and incomplete documents.
• Respond to traveler and employee inquiries with clear communication and solutions.
• Prepare and present complex transactions for supervisor review and resolution.
• Apply accounting principles in alignment with governmental practices.
• Utilize Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications for reporting and data management.
• Maintain positive interpersonal relationships and provide excellent customer service.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

• Basic math proficiency.
• Strong data entry and financial data analysis skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Time management and organizational abilities.
• Experience in report preparation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel) and Google Workspace (Google Sheets).

Experience :

• Minimum of one year of accounting experience.
• High School Diploma
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
