Cardiac Sonographer Sr
The Senior Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for obtaining diagnostic transthoracic and fetal echocardiograms and compiling preliminary reports on all exams requested by the pediatric cardiologist.

Responsibilities
Performs transthoracic echocardiograms according to the requirements set by the Nationwide Children's Echo Lab protocols. - Maintains basic understanding of congenital heart disease, cath lab interventions, surgical repairs, and complications which lead to the acquisition of high quality and diagnostic images.
- Generates complete preliminary reports in reporting system.
- Performs echocardiograms at various offsite clinics and local hospitals.
- Communicates with the team going to the offsite locations regarding transportation, start times, coverage, and emergencies.
- Provides training and positive mentorship to trainees as assigned. Participates in department quality and process initiatives.
- Attends and participates in Echo conferences, staff meetings and Echo Quality Improvement meetings.
- Participates in a rotating call schedule covering nights, weekends, and occasional holidays.
- Responds within NCH guidelines and finds call coverage when there are coverage conflicts.
- Maintains the required CMEs for pediatric echocardiography registration.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Education:
Skills and Experience:
- Accepts and supports change in a positive manner.
- Minimum of five years full time experience in pediatric echocardiography.
- Minimum of one year full time experience in fetal echocardiography.
- Extensive knowledge of normal and abnormal pediatric and fetal cardiac imaging.
- Maintains professional standards, sets goals, and participates in activities to achieve those goals
