A financial firm is looking for an AV Engineer to join their team in New York, NY.
Compensation: $150k
Responsibilities:
Systems Design and Planning:
- Develop comprehensive A/V system designs based on user requirements and by room types (Conference Rooms, Digital Signage Systems, Production Studios).
- Work with the Head of A/V, create detailed schematics, layouts, and documentation to establish A/V Standards across the fleet.
- Evaluate and recommend scalable A/V technologies and components.
Project Implementation:
- Support A/V projects from conception to completion, ensuring A/V room design is implemented based on firm A/V standards.
- Oversee the configuration of A/V systems, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
- Conduct system testing, commissioning, and quality assurance checks.
Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
- Provide Tier 3 support for Zoom platform administration including Zoom meeting, phone, and room.
- Provide Tier 3 Microsoft Office 365 administration including Teams, room, and equipment resources.
- Provide Tier 3 technical support and troubleshooting for A/V systems.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, coordinating with manufacturers and vendors as needed.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all A/V systems and configurations.
Engagement and Training:
- Provide leadership for the A/V Engineering team, ensuring alignment with A/V organizational goals
- Collaborate with A/V, IT, Workplace Services teams to understand end user needs and propose suitable A/V solutions.
- Conduct end user demonstrations and presentations to showcase A/V system capabilities.
- Train internal staff in the operation and maintenance of A/V systems.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in A/V.
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance system performance and user experience.
- Contribute to the development of A/V standards and protocols within the organization.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in A/V systems design, installation, and support
- Experience with drafting A/V drawings in AutoCAD
- Experience with Bluebeam and/or Vector Works and Visio
- Strong Knowledge of A/V collaboration software such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams
- Strong Knowledge of A/V networking
- Proven experience in managing A/V design cycles from start to finish
- Strong knowledge of A/V systems and components, including displays, projectors, sound systems, digital signage, and control systems
- Fundamental understanding of A/V system schematics, layouts, and documentation
- Experience with A/V system installation and configuration
- Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving A/V system issues
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Able to collaborate effectively with clients and internal teams
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Relevant certifications such as AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) or equivalent is required
- Advanced certifications such as AVIXA CTS-D (Design) or CTS-I (Installation) or equivalent is required
- Ability to stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies
- Ability to recommend and implement innovative solutions to enhance system performance and user experience
