We are partnered with a leader in the Food & Beverage Wholesale industry to bring on a Security Engineer at the Senior or Staff level based out of Metro NYC. As a Security Engineer specializing in Email Security and DLP, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the client's IT infrastructure, ensuring compliance, and mitigating risks. In this position, you will leverage technical expertise and innovation to enhance threat detection, incident response, and email security systems in alignment with industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain advanced email security solutions, including DMARC, DKIM, SPF, DNSSEC, email filtering, encryption, and sandboxing.
- Develop and improve DLP strategies to protect sensitive data and mitigate risks.
- Investigate and respond to email-related security incidents, including phishing attempts and advanced threats.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with security standards such as NIST, PCI, SOX, and HIPAA.
- Integrate APIs and automation tools to streamline security processes using scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, and shell scripting.
- Analyze and troubleshoot network and email protocols, including SMTP, DNS, TCP, UDP, SSL/TLS, FTP, and DHCP.
- Mentor team members, share knowledge, and promote process improvement and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the client's overall cybersecurity posture.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Proven experience in email security, threat detection, and incident response.
- Strong knowledge of email authentication protocols (DMARC, DKIM, SPF), DLP tools, and email filtering solutions.
- Expertise in DNS, NTP, SMTP, and authentication protocols (Kerberos, SAML, OAuth).
- Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Python, or shell scripting) and API integrations.
- Certifications such as CISA, CISSP, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (PCI, SOX, HIPAA).
Preferred:
- Hands-on experience with Postfix and email sandboxing tools.
- Understanding of NetBIOS and network protocols like TCP, UDP, and SSL/TLS.
