The Lead Software Engineer, Lead Web Developer position is responsible for the design, development, and ongoing operation of common front-end web frameworks and services that power web experiences in Cox.com. They work with teams to ensure that solutions are well-engineered, operable, and delivered on time. They must combine advanced technical skills, business knowledge, and collaboration skills to effectively bring together the business and technical points of view to design solutions that align with best practices, enterprise architecture principles and guidelines, and Technology strategic Horizons direction. They should monitor emerging industry trends in web development, declining technologies, assisting in software product evaluations, roadmaps, and the changing CCI web application landscape. They must participate effectively in Agile DevOps team rituals and inter-team communication as a provider of software to other teams and must follow the principles of Site Reliability Engineering and their practices in the Cox.com digital ecosystem.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Essential Responsibilities include the following. Other responsibilities may be assigned. Candidates should be flexible in supporting assignments in different technology areas and have a willingness to apply leadership skills to new information technologies as business requirements dictate.
- Lead design for web client-side technology solutions that involve complex, multi-system integrations. This will include designing, building, and maintaining common frameworks and libraries foundational to Digital web experiences.
- Design and assess technical solutions and verify that project technical aspects adhere to business objectives. Additionally, they may aid in delineating non-functional requisites like scalability, security, and performance benchmarks.
- Works with the business to refine requirements, combine business knowledge with technical knowledge to ask the right questions to refine business goals into technical requirements, and develop software solution design deliverables.
- Supervising junior web developers, analyzing areas of weakness, and scheduling training sessions accordingly.
- Work with cross-functional teams including IT, infrastructure, security, business and product teams, application owners, and domain architects, to create comprehensive solutions and provide architectural stewardship for Digital web solutions.
- Builds and maintains effective working relationships with other team members to determine the most effective designs within the enterprise, so applications can provide their full value
- Identify and acquire training and knowledge in areas key to improving customer service, technical ability, and job performance.
- Communicate effectively with technical stakeholders, business stakeholders, and executive leadership. Ability to explain complex information clearly and concisely
Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 6 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 4 years' experience; a Ph.D. and 1 year of experience; or 10 years' experience in a related field
- Requires strong knowledge of client-side web development software and frameworks such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, TypeScript, React, and associated build and packaging tools.
- Experience with developing content management systems and content distribution networks.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, will possess the flexibility to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
- 5+ years of architecture experience or an ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of the role of architecture as a horizontal function and the architectural thought process
- Comprehensive knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), with a thorough understanding of Requirements Gathering, Business Analysis, Development, and Testing
Preferred - Experience in designing solutions in Enterprise class applications
- Experience with Adobe Experience Manager
- Experience with AWS CloudFront
- experience in full-stack or server-side development for web applications.
- Architecture experience in e-commerce, ECare, Digital Platforms, Virtual Agent, Sales and Customer Service Agent applications
- Industry experience in broadband and telecommunications, media, or Entertainment
- Experience in Agile development methodology/Scrum is a plus
- Experience in UX and design system creation or associated tools like Figma.

USD 117,300.00 - 195,500.00 per year
Compensation: Compensation includes a base salary of $117,300.00 - $195,500.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
