RN - General Medicine Telemetry at Cleveland Clinic summary: The PRN Registered Nurse at Cleveland Clinic's General Medicine/Telemetry unit provides comprehensive nursing care for a diverse patient population, including those with respiratory and gastrointestinal issues, as well as patients undergoing withdrawal. This role requires direct implementation and monitoring of patient care plans, as well as effective communication of patient conditions to the healthcare team. Ideal candidates possess a nursing degree, active RN licensure, and preferably a BSN, with at least two years of recent nursing experience. Cleveland Clinic's H80 General Medicine/Telemetry unit cares for a variety of patients (respiratory, gastrointestinal, dialysis, diabetes, and more) as well as the homeless population and patients going through drug and alcohol withdrawal. This patient population's diversity is comparable to that of the Emergency Department, so nurses learn many skills that can take them anywhere in Cleveland Clinic. A caregiver in this position works as needed on day, evening, night and/or weekend shifts. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide direct nursing care. Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing. Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA). External applicants: two years of recent nursing experience. Will consider licensed military RN experience . Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN). Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids. Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
