Experienced RN (PRN) - Heart Failure Stepdown at Cleveland Clinic summary: As an Experienced RN (PRN) on the Heart Failure Stepdown Unit at Cleveland Clinic, you will provide direct nursing care to patients with a full spectrum of cardiac conditions, utilizing telemetry monitoring. Your responsibilities will include implementing care plans, monitoring patient conditions, and coordinating discharge needs. This role requires a valid RN license, BLS certification, and the ability to work variable shifts in a dynamic hospital environment. J72 is one of three Medical Cardiac Step-down Units that care for the full spectrum of cardiac care. All patients within our Medical Cardiac Step-down Units utilize telemetry monitoring. Caregivers on these floors care for the full spectrum of cardiac care from diagnosis to end of life. A caregiver in this position works Variable shifts, from 7:00am—7:30pm or 7:00pm—7:30am. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide direct nursing care. Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing. Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA). External applicants: two years of recent related nursing experience. Internal applicants with less than two years’ experience, but post orientation/90-day probationary period, could be considered with the Chief Nursing Officer level review and approval. Will consider military RN experience. Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN). Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids. Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work. Personal Protective Equipment: Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
