Job FunctionReporting into the Director of Global Benefits, the Senior Benefits Analyst will be based in Houston, Texas and will be instrumental in overall benefits administration of the company's health and welfare and retirement benefits, in particular with respect to defined benefit pension plans, post-retirement health and welfare benefits and international benefits. Instrumental in maintaining and developing relationships with external benefit providers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality employee benefits programs. This role involves assistance with negotiating contracts, evaluating vendor performance, and serving as a primary point of contact for both employees and vendors.
Responsibilities - Maintain and develop effective partnerships with benefit providers, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and service level agreements.
- Assist with negotiating terms and conditions with vendors to optimize benefits offerings and cost-effectiveness.
- Coordinate actuarial and benefits administration for legacy company defined benefit plans and assist with de-risking activities.
- Coordinate actuarial and benefits administration for legacy company post-retirement health and welfare plans and assist with de-risking activities.
- Review, monitor and maintain inventory of international benefit plans and programs providing support during annual renewals, assistance with the selection of appropriate benefits consultants and brokers and assistance with global harmonization efforts.
- Analyze employee feedback and benefits utilization data to assess the effectiveness of existing programs and recommend enhancements.
- Maintain the benefits portal as a communication source for employees and ensure it is current and accurately reflects the companies benefit programs.
- Establish efficient processes and procedures to ensure benefits eligibility and enrollments are accurate and in compliance with rules and regulations.
- Serve as a contact for employee inquiries related to benefits, assisting with enrollment, claims, and resolving issues as they arise.
- Examine, maintain and modify as needed the employee experience with company benefit programs.
- Serve as a mentor to other Benefit Analysts and Specialists
- Monitor and report on vendor performance metrics, including service quality, employee satisfaction, and cost analysis.
- Serve as a liaison between Benefits and HR business partners providing education and training to assist with employee understanding of company benefits.
- Collaborate closely with external vendors and internal resources to streamline the processing and payment of benefit related invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payment of goods and services.
- Work closely with HR and finance teams to align benefits strategy with organizational goals and budget constraints.
- Ensure that all benefits programs comply with applicable laws and regulations.
- Develop and deliver training sessions, as needed, for employees on available benefits and how to access them effectively.
Required Experience- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of benefits administration experience
- Experience with defined benefit pension plans
- Experience with international benefits preferred
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities at various levels in the organization
- Proficiency in MS Office and HRIS systems.
Preferred Experience- Certification in employee benefits or HR (e.g., CEBS, PHR).
- Familiarity with benefits regulations (e.g., ERISA, ACA).
