In anticipation of a contract award, we are looking for a Strategic Communications Specialist SME/Team Lead to:
- Lead integrated projects to include delivery of strategic communications, website/SharePoint maintenance services, and executive-level administrative support to the Director and Deputy Director
- Provide industry expertise in strategic communications initiatives for the federal government.
- Experience in project management
- Ability to gather requirements, create messaging, identify appropriate communications channels for target audiences, and coordinate with identified parties to deliver this messaging on various platforms and formats.
What You'll Do:The following is a list of primary responsibilities for this position:
- Lead the development and implementation of strategic communications designed to promote and raise awareness of initiatives among various audiences internal and external to the organization.
- Create and make updates to organization-wide messaging and communications in various formats.
- Consult, assist, develop, review, and edit, formal presentations, briefing materials, and training materials in the required and proper format for all audiences.
- Conceptualize and develop a wide variety of informational materials.
- Provide graphic and infographic support and assist the organization with incorporating such into messaging and communications in various formats.
- Review, edit, and draft information and articles for the organization to be posted on the agency Web home internet page
- Develop communication plans and assist with execution, tracking, and reporting details.
- Plan, develop, and schedule communication project timelines.
- Track communication deliverables using appropriate tools.
- Monitor and report on the progress of deliverables to all stakeholders.
- Present reports defining communication plan progress, problems, and solutions.
- Capable of risk identification and resolution; proactively addressing issues with business and organizational deliverables provided by contractor personnel.
- Track project progress to meet customers' deadlines. Communicate throughout the project and inform the client of unexpected delays or if changes in the scope will delay the desired delivery date.
- Effectively understand and capture client job needs and communicate them to other personnel who may not understand clients' perceptions or perspectives. Communicate with the team, clarifying the clients' understanding and views.
Must Haves:- Bachelors degree and 5 years of relevant experience, or Masters and 2 years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated strong facilitation skills
