DescriptionYou will utilize your academic background to conduct the design of processes on both new and modified systems. In addition, evaluations and reviews of both new and existing energy and industrial facilities to prepare comprehensive reports and calculations in support of assessing proposed system designs, upgrades, modifications, and equipment/system replacements.
The position offers occasional remote work and the ability to have a flexible schedule and to work with multi-disciplined project teams to:- Work on enterprise network architecture and implementation, including LAN, WAN, data center, cloud, wired, and wireless technologies within classified and unclassified spaces
- Lead others in one or more areas: enterprise networking, data center networking, network security, classified networking, and cloud network architectures.
- Analyze technical issues, prepare accompanying system specification data, and present your findings and proposals to clients and peers.
- Develop your career via peer learning by way of S&L's systems of process and associated "Communities of Practice"
- Define, maintain, and evolve an IT strategy with a particular emphasis on enterprise applications and architecture.
- Analyze and assess strategies while balancing near-term needs with longer-term objectives that have a significant impact to a facility.
QualificationsMust be a U.S. Citizen; Dual citizenship with a country other than the U.S. does not qualify.Essential skills and experience:
- Must have and be able to maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
- This position requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Highly advanced knowledge of industry practices in enterprise network architecture and implementation, including LAN, WAN, data center, cloud, wired, and wireless technologies within classified and unclassified space.
- Expert knowledge of delivering enterprise networks including the utilization of automation technologies (e.g. Ansible, Python or similar technologies) to develop automation capabilities and establish infrastructure as code frameworks specific to networking.
- Subject matter expert knowledge and technical leadership experience in one or more areas: enterprise networking, data center networking, network security, classified networking, and cloud network architectures.
- Proficiency in AWS and Azure cloud platforms, including services like AWS SageMaker.
- Extensive experience leading and managing a team of technical staff, including training, and mentoring.
- A minimum of 15 years of industry-related experience

About This Business UnitSargent & Lundy's Government Services Division provides cutting-edge engineering design and consulting support to the management and operating contractors for US Department of Energy (DOE) sites and national laboratories. Specifically, we support the DOE Environmental Management Directorate as well as the National Nuclear Security Administration laboratories and sites. What does this mean?
