SummaryThe Waste Pro Corporate Senior Purchaser will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to drive long term improvements in quality, cost and service level performance. The ideal candidate will have the ability to manage the Waste Pro supply chain and deliver the most efficient and cost-effective service to the organization.
JOB FUNCTIONS:- Function as leader/mentor within the Corporate Purchasing team; providing guidance to our internal customers with support and training.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret internal/external data from multiple sources for materials or services to make informed decisions.
- Lead sourcing projects that may include participation and support with various stakeholders and Business Units.
- Review and process purchase requisitions for goods/services and ensure compliance with purchasing policy, procedures and requirements.
- Release reviewed and approved purchase orders to suppliers.
- Lead and prepare RFQ's and RFP's to suppliers/contractors when needed and follow the Strategic Sourcing Process.
- Initiate projects that reduce the supply base, streamline processes, and reduce costs.
- Maintain records in accordance with established policies and procedures and audit guidelines.
- Monitor process compliance and provide feedback and training to improve Business Partners understanding and execution of the purchase order process.
- Build and maintain relations with Waste Pro employees and leadership by visiting Waste Pro Divisions on an as needed basis.
- Validate and reconcile supplier invoices, manage invoice resolution and corresponds with supplier/contractor, Accounts Payable or stakeholder regarding invoicing discrepancies.
- Support compliance to the company's code of ethics with all internal customers.
- Responsible for the accurate processing of purchasing requirements for internal customers
- Direct spend requests to preferred and approved Corporate Suppliers to maintain cost effective rates for Waste Pro. Support compliance with Corporate Purchase Programs.
- Manage assigned commodity and services programs, measure supplier performance, and ensure suppliers meet key metrics. Manage key suppliers through data reports and regular meetings and appropriate contracts with performance metrics.
- Provide Purchasing Training to internal customers as needed.
- Provide written updates on current programs managed and ensure any website materials related to these programs are updated on a regular basis.

- Employees in this job classification are responsible for keeping up to date on current technology, as job appropriate, being used by Waste Pro
- Attend Purchasing, or Industry Training events, to stay current with new trends, products, and services that impact the items that are managed.
- Any additional job duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:- Bachelor's degree required in business or supply chain.
- 10+ years of experience within Purchasing, Logistics, or Supply Chain as a materials/services buyer. Or a combination of experience that would be equivalent.
- Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), or Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) beneficial.
- Proficient in applying the tactical and strategic steps in the procurement process to obtain materials or services required by the business. Ability to manage a project through the sourcing process and track the project's performance.
- Efficient in the use of MS Office, MS Excel, MS Power Point and SharePoint.
- General knowledge of legal terminology including standard contract terms and conditions, risk management, and insurance requirements for service and commodity providers.
- Proven application of relevant knowledge of Supply Chain systems (SAP/Oracle/Solomon or others) in normal business situations without use of reference guides/assistance.
- Ability to effectively communicate within a team environment.
- Ability to monitor and manage supplier relationships and performance.
- Ability to influence stakeholders/customers without authority.
- Possess a "sense of urgency" and ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment.
- Good planning project management skills.
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
- Deep knowledge of the strategic sourcing, procurement lifecycle and procurement best practices and methods, including an understanding of the current market conditions, key suppliers, industry knowledge and materials/services procured.
- Knowledge of fuel buying, fuel cards, tires, temporary labor, fleet parts, and MRO and safety supplies. Basic knowledge of facilities maintenance, property management, and general construction projects.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Strong writing and analytical skills.
